Highlighting
Outreach Efforts
Members of the HAPCOA - NY Chapter: Phil Nater, Sergeant at Arms; Miguel Collazo, Outreach Chairman; and Yessyka Santana, President, visited Roosevelt High School in Yonkers, NY, on November 19, 2003 to mentor students on how to become Law Enforcement Officers. This event was a success. Students expressed an interest in becoming law enforcement officers and had lots of questions. The presentation was conducted in English and Spanish. We acknowledge Michael Stolworthy for the Tech Presentation, which students enjoyed. A special thanks to the students for their interest and for the hospitality extended to us during the presentation. We want to thank Roosevelt High School for allowing HAPCOA to share it's expertise with Roosevelt High School students. Lunch was great!
In addition, Miguel Collazo, Chairman of the Outreach Committee also visited John Jay on December 3, 2003 and provided a presentation to John Jay students on how to become Law Enforcement Officers.
Hapcoa Monthly Meeting
The HAPCOA had it's monthly meeting at the Postal Inspection Service on November 18, 2003. We want to thank William Kezer, Inspector in Charge, U.S. Postal Inspection Service for allowing us to utilize the conference room for our meeting. It was decided at the meeting that the proceeds from our Single's Party for a Scholarship for a Disadvantaged Student will be given to Yonkers High School student that has already been accepted to a College and is disadvantaged.
